A clan crest is a traditional symbol associated with a specific Scottish clan, representing its identity, history, and heritage. These crests form part of Scotland’s heraldic system and are officially recorded by the Lord Lyon King of Arms. Each design is unique, often reflecting the clan’s values, legacy, and ancestral story.
Choose from a select range of pewter giftware and have your clan crest expertly engraved inside a quaich bowl, or on the front of a tankard or flask.
You can also add personalised engraving on the reverse of tankards and flasks, or along the sides of quaich bowls for a truly individual finish.
Clan crests can also be applied to many of our other gift items beyond this range. If you would like your crest added to an alternative product, or if you cannot see your clan listed, please contact us and we will be happy to help.
The Clan Bruce crest features a lion statant with its tail extended, a heraldic symbol representing courage, strength, and leadership—qualities long associated with the Bruce family.
The clan motto, “Fuimus,” meaning “We have been,” reflects the proud legacy and enduring historical significance of Clan Bruce in Scotland.
Originating from Normandy, the Bruce name is believed to come from the lands of Brix or Le Brus and arrived in Britain following the Norman Conquest of 1066. The first recorded Bruce in Scotland, Robert de Brus, 1st Lord of Annandale, established the family’s Scottish roots in the early 12th century. Through strategic alliances and land ownership, including the marriage of Robert Bruce, 4th Lord of Annandale, to Isobel of Huntingdon, the family strengthened its influence and historic claim to the Scottish throne.
